Since the end of winter, I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the local woods and forests of Nottinghamshire. They are dotted around small villages and towns and they have been a wonderful source of inspiration and during the last lockdown. The community of trees are like being in a crowded room full of family and friends. If you take the time to sit and listen you can hear the life all around you and after over a year of avoiding being in the company of others it is wonderful to know that life is still continuing.
Whilst spending time walking through the trees I have taken notes, photos and sketches and the result has been a growing collection of paintings I'm calling 'Into the Woods'. Here are some of my earlier pieces:
