About me and my art.
As a child in the beautiful heritage county of Wiltshire, I was incredibly lucky to be encouraged by my parents to be creative. I loved art at school too, but one bad teacher discouraged me and it took until I was forty to pursue a creative career in design. Design is as much about practicalities as it is creativity and I enjoyed working with both disciplines. However, as the years went by, I became bored with the career path I had created and wanted something much more creative, freer, and more expressive.
In 2018 I had the opportunity to rethink my career path due to illness and family commitments. It was my husband who encouraged me to become an artist. I have loved every moment, every challenge, and every new skill I have learnt.
I am inspired by nature and my paintings of landscapes, are colourful, vibrant, and full of texture, they give me great joy and freedom of expression. I am spending more time in the woods and forests local to me and I am inspired by the community of trees and ongoing life. At present I am working on impressionistic style paintings either in the studio or outside. Plein air painting is new to me but it is giving me the opportunity to get out of the house whilst still painting. It is an ongoing project and I will be telling my story on my various social media sites but in particular Instagram and YouTube. Hope to see you there.
I have a blog which I am gradually getting used to writing and a newsletter to keep those interested in my work up-to-date and an opportunity to let people know when I have a show on or have an offer on. If you would like to be part of the newsletter family please fill in the form or email me direct on: firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for visiting my website, I really do appreciate you spending the time to get to know a little about me and my art.
Please do take a look at the rest of the website. There is plenty to look at and is often updated. I also, have a Q&A page that should answer most of your questions, however, you are more than welcome to contact me direct for a chat about my work and how I might be able to help you.
