When I put together the paintings for the exhibition, I wanted to show a more obvious moment in time by showing the seasons.  I chose Silver Birch trees as I have them in my back garden which I planted twenty years ago, I have watched them grow and seen each season pass and return.  Bringing with them reminders of the passage of time and the importance to stop every now and then to pay attention.  Otherwise, life just flies by and before you know it you've missed all the good things in life.
